Design as a Service isn't just a subscription — it's how serious SaaS teams get design done

Design as a Service (DaaS) is a model where you access ongoing, professional design expertise through a subscription — no hiring, no project-by-project contracts, just a senior designer always in your corner.

But here's the problem with most UX design service providers:

How Eleken's DaaS model works

Four steps from first call to fully embedded designer

01
Free 3-day trial.
Before any subscription starts, we run a no-commitment trial. You give us a real task from your actual product. In three days, you see exactly how we think, how we communicate, and what we deliver. No risk, no pressure.
02
Subscription kickoff.
Choose full-time or part-time coverage depending on your pace. Your designer is in your Slack, your Figma, your task tracker — however your team works. No onboarding friction, no ramp-up period.
03
Dedicated, not pooled.
Your designer works exclusively on your product. They learn your design system, your users, your business logic. The longer they work with you, the faster and sharper they get — because context compounds.
04
Scale up or pause as needed.

We don't just design screens — we build
you a working product preview

There's a gap between seeing a design and understanding how it feels to use. Eleken designers work with AI-assisted prototyping tools to deliver something your whole team can actually experience — real interactions, real navigation, real product feel.

BlueKnight — AI-generated product dashboard

A quick Claude-generated prototype showing how AI can move from rough product logic to a usable dashboard interface — the kind of early concept a SaaS team can review before investing in full design.

Open the live version to explore the dashboard flow in a separate tab.

It's not a mockup. It's a live, coded preview of your future product.

The SaaS teams our UX design service agency work with best

Eleken works exclusively with SaaS. Here's where we tend to add the most value.

Post-AI MVP teams

You validated fast with AI-generated screens. Now you're past early traction and the design isn't keeping up. We take what you've built and make it production-ready — without starting from zero.

Products with design debt

Years of shipping features left your product functional but hard to navigate. We untangle the complexity and give it room to grow again.

Engineering-led teams without in-house design

Your team builds well but nobody owns UX. Design decisions happen by default, and it's costing you. We step in as your dedicated team — embedded, accountable, no hiring overhead.

Growing teams that need extra design capacity

Your roadmap keeps outpacing your design team. We add a designer who slots straight into your existing workflow — same tools, same process, more output.

Established companies moving upmarket

Going enterprise, raising a round, or expanding into new markets? We bring senior UX expertise at scale so your product looks and feels the part.

Is Eleken's design as a service the right fit?

We work exclusively with SaaS — but not every SaaS team is the right match. Here's how to tell.

Great fit if:

  • You're building, scaling, or redesigning a SaaS product and need a designer who understands product logic, not just aesthetics
  • You want a designer embedded in your team — in your Slack, your Figma, your sprints — not someone you brief and wait on
  • You value design that compounds over time, with a designer who gets sharper the longer they know your product
  • You need to move faster than hiring allows, without the overhead of a full-time employee
  • You're ready to treat design as an ongoing investment in your product, not a one-time fix

Probably not the right fit if:

  • Your project is a one-off — a single landing page, logo design, or a few quick tweaks
  • You need a web design, brand identity, or social media graphics
  • You don't have time to communicate with a designer regularly — our model works best with daily or weekly touch points
  • Your product isn't SaaS
  • You're an agency looking for subcontractors

A design process that runs as long as your product needs it

Each step has a clear output. Each cycle makes your product stronger.

1.   User research

We audit what's broken, map how your users actually behave, and identify the gaps between what your product does and what users need.

You get:
  • Competitive analysis
  • UX audit report
  • User flow mapping

2.   Information architecture

We map out your app's structure and navigation, ensuring workflows are intuitive and scalable before moving into screen design.

You get:
  • Sitemap review
  • User flows
  • Initial wireframes

3.   Screens design

Your designer creates multiple UI directions with variations in layout, typography, and visual style. The preferred direction gets iterated until every screen is production-ready and consistent with your design system.

You get:
  • Several UI options
  • Live design prototype
  • Iterated screen designs
  • Final UI kit

4.   Design handoff

We make sure your developers have everything they need to implement the design accurately — annotated Figma files, component specs, and a design system.

You get:
  • Annotated Figma files
  • Component specs
  • Design system

5.   Ongoing design support

This is where the subscription model shows its value. We stay embedded in your team — adding new features, refining existing flows, consulting on UX decisions, and making sure the design holds up as your product scales.

You get:
  • New feature design
  • UX consulting
  • Design system maintenance

Frequently asked questions

What is design as a service?
Design as a service (DaaS) is a subscription-based model where you get ongoing access to professional design expertise for a fixed monthly fee — instead of hiring in-house, managing freelancers, or commissioning one-off projects. It's a more cost-effective alternative to building an in-house team, especially for SaaS companies with continuous product work. You subscribe, your designer gets embedded in your team, and the work keeps moving as long as your product needs it, no need to submit design requests for each new task.
How is Eleken's DaaS different from other design subscription services?
Most design subscription services are built for marketing teams — social posts, banners, video editing, ad creatives. Eleken works exclusively with SaaS products. That means your designer understands UX flows, complex B2B interfaces, mobile apps, onboarding design, and product logic — not just how to make things look good. You also get one dedicated designer who works exclusively on your product, not a rotating pool handling multiple clients at once.
Is this a project engagement or an ongoing subscription?
It's a subscription. There's no defined end date, no fixed project scope, and no handoff at the finish line. Your designer stays embedded in your team for as long as you need them — picking up new features, refining existing flows, and improving the product month after month. The longer they work with you, the more valuable they become.
How quickly can we get started?
After an intro call where we learn about your product and match you with the right designer, we kick off with a free 3-day trial. Your designer gets a real task from your product, delivers real work, and you decide whether to continue. The trial is how we make sure the fit is right before any subscription begins.
What if I'm not happy with my designer?
Tell us. We'll replace your designer quickly and make sure the new one is properly onboarded on your product context so nothing is lost.
Can I pause or cancel my subscription?
Yes. After the 2-month minimum, you can pause or cancel anytime. If you want to cancel, just let us know a month in advance so we can wrap up ongoing work properly. There are no penalties, no complicated exit clauses.
Do you work with companies outside of SaaS?
No. Eleken works exclusively with SaaS products. This isn't a limitation — it's a deliberate choice that makes our designers better at what they do. SaaS product design has specific demands that generalist designers don't encounter day to day. Our entire hiring process, training, and design culture is built around that.
What if I already have an in-house designer?
Many of our clients do. Eleken works alongside in-house designers as an extension of the team — same tools, same Figma files, same communication channels. We add capacity where the roadmap demands it without disrupting the workflow already in place.
What size of team is Eleken best for?
We work with teams of all sizes — from solo founders building their first product to established SaaS companies with large engineering teams. What matters more than team size is whether you have ongoing design work that needs a dedicated, product-savvy designer to own it.
Can I switch between part-time and full-time mid-subscription?
Yes. If your roadmap accelerates and you need more design capacity, you can move from part-time to full-time — or add a second designer. If things slow down, you can scale back. Just let us know and we'll adjust your plan accordingly.
Who are Eleken's designers and how are they vetted?
Eleken designers go through a rigorous selection process — we hire fewer than 5% of applicants. Every designer then completes a three-month internal training program focused specifically on SaaS product design before they work on any client project. You also get the oversight of our Head of Design throughout the engagement, not just the individual designer.
